Remember the Titans Essay Based on the true story of the events that took place in Alexandria,Virginia in 1971, Remember the Titans depicts the struggle of an AfricanAmerican football coach, Herman Boone, who was hired to guide the T.C. Williams Titans. To the people in Alexandria football was everything. However, when the local black high school was forced to integrate with anall white school, the very foundation of footballs great tradition was putto the test. It was during this time that Boone became entangled in thecourt-ordered integration crisis. Boone was a successful African American coach from North Carolina, whowas selected to lead the Titans to victory. But what he didnt know thathe was selected in hopes that the team would boycott in his response ofaccepting the head coaching job. Later on in the season he was told if heloss a game that would be the end of his coaching career with the Titans.
